We’d been waiting for a refresh for the hyper popular AirPods for a while when it finally happened earlier this year. It didn’t bring with it a hugely redesigned earbud, but we did at least get wireless charging for the battery case. That’s a big deal and while the original AirPods Charging Case is still available, it’s the wireless one that you want. And now you can get it with a saving attached, too.

Right now Amazon is selling that little package of magic for just $179, making this one of the best prices we’ve seen for this product. In fact, AirPods aren’t often discounted at all so this is definitely something to take advantage of while it’s available.

The refreshed AirPods do have another difference beside that Wireless Charging Case. They also feature the new H1 chip inside. An improved version of the W1 chip from previous AirPods these new lines pair and connect more quickly to devices. They also enable hands-free “Hey Siri” support for those who just can’t get along with tapping their ears or their phones.

We’ve long been big fans of the AirPods in general and this new refresh brings two things we wanted. The first is wireless charging for the case, which is awesome, and the second is better handling of pairing and connecting with multiple devices. AirPods have always been good at that, but there’s always room for improvement, right?
