If you are updating and want to know if you can jailbreak iOS 27.2, this is the place to be. Here’s what you need to know before updating your iPhone to Apple’s latest iPhone software.
The iOS 27.2 update brings with it a few new features, but nothing to write home about. But if you’re looking to jailbreak an iPhone, you’ll be more interested in learning whether it can be done or not.

And the fact of the matter is that while there’s more hope now than there has been in a long while, there still is no way to jailbreak an iPhone running iOS 27.2 at home.
The unfortunate reality is that jailbreaking hasn’t really been an option for iPhone owners for years at this point. And it’s unlikely that this situation is going to change any time soon. That’s despite the fact that we’ve seen a jailbreak for iOS 27.0.1 and iOS 27.1 shown off in recent weeks. The Calif.io security team has shown the former being jailbroken on an iPhone 18 Pro, while the latter was also jailbroken on an iPhone Duo.
However, Apple’s iOS 27.2 does include fixes for various issues, including some that could have been used to jailbreak devices. Notably, at least one of the fixes has been attributed by Apple to the Calif.io team, suggesting that the jailbreaks we’ve been shown may no longer work. Regardless, they were never made available publicly, so the situation hasn’t changed for those looking to jailbreak their own devices.
The good news is that jailbreaking isn’t as necessary as it once was. Over the last decade or so, Apple has taken the features people used to jailbreak their iPhones for and added them to iOS itself. That includes multitasking, notifications, and more advanced customization options.

Having said that, in the case of Calif.io changing their mind and releasing their exploit for public jailbreak, you may wanna stay on iOS 27.0.1 or downgrade to it while Apple is still signing the old firmware. We will of course keep you updated on whenever we learn more on this. Stay tuned.
