Apple Sports App Update Adds CarPlay Widgets, F1 Tracking, More

Apple just gave sports fans a nice little upgrade. The latest update to its Sports app for iPhone brings CarPlay support along with some new features for Formula 1 and the upcoming World Cup.

With version 3.10, Apple Sports now works with CarPlay in a more useful way. Before this, the app would only show up as a Live Activity during a game. Now, it adds proper widgets you can keep on your car’s screen.

There’s no full app interface yet, but you do get two simple widgets: My Teams and Leagues. These let you quickly check scores and updates while driving, without needing to open anything. It’s clean and easy to use.

Setting it up is straightforward. After updating the app, just go to your iPhone’s CarPlay settings and add the Sports widgets to your widget stack. What you see in “My Teams” depends on the teams you’ve already favorited in the app, while the Leagues widget can be customized.

The update also adds more for F1 fans. You can now see race-day details like track temperature and wind speed for each Grand Prix. It’s a small touch, but useful if you follow races closely.

On top of that, Apple is getting ready for the 2026 World Cup, letting users follow teams and explore groups ahead of time.

Overall, it’s not a huge update, but it makes Apple Sports more practical, especially if you like keeping up with games on the go.
