Apple has released for download second RC build of iOS 26.2 to developers and testers ahead of public launch. This release comes a few days after the company seeded first RC of iOS 26.2 to developers.
While many expected Apple to release final version of iOS 26.2 to public today, the release of RC2 today means Apple found a last minute issue with previous RC build and wanted to have that fix before rolling iOS 26.2 out to everyone.

iOS 26.2 introduces a Liquid Glass interface slider on the Lock Screen, allowing users to adjust the transparency of the clock. Additionally, it brings AirPods Live Translation to the European Union. The Reminders app now includes alarms for task due dates, while the Podcasts and Apple News apps receive updates. Menu animations have been revamped, and CarPlay now supports disabling pinned messages in the Messages app.
To update to iOS 26.2 RC2, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and grab the OTA update from there. Alternatively, you can download the IPSW file from developer.apple.com and grab the file from there and then update to it using iTunes on Windows or Finder on Mac.
We are now expecting Apple to release final version of iOS 26.2 to public sometime later this week.
