The United States Mint is set to begin producing a new $1 American Innovation Coin, with Steve Jobs featuring. The coin was shown off for the first time today.
Alongside Jobs, other coins will feature Dr. Norman Borlaug, the Cray-1 Supercomputer, and a 1940s truck to celebrate the advent of mobile refrigeration.

The Steve Jobs coin will feature the Apple co-founder sat cross-legged on the floor. It was designed by Artistic Infusion Program Designer Elana Hagler and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.
This design presents a young Steve Jobs sitting in front of a quintessentially northern California landscape of oak-covered rolling hills. His posture and expression, as he is captured in a moment of reflection, show how this environment inspired his vision to transform complex technology into something as intuitive and organic as nature itself. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “CALIFORNIA.” Additional inscriptions are “STEVE JOBS” and “MAKE SOMETHING WONDERFUL.”
The coin will officially go on sale in 2026 and you will be able to buy one via the United States Mint website. Each coin will cost $13.25, or you can choose to buy the full four-coin set for $27.50 instead. Rolls of 25 coins and bags of 100 coins will also be available.

Jobs was recommended for a spot on the celebratory coin by California Governor Gavin Newsom earlier this year.
