A new rumor from Majin Bu suggests that iOS 19 is going to bring some major updates for the iPhone.
If you’ve got an iPhone with a USB-C port, things might get a whole lot more powerful, especially when you connect your phone to an external display.

Right now, when you plug your iPhone into a bigger screen, it just mirrors what’s on your phone, but with iOS 19, it sounds like that’s about to change. According to Bu’s source, iPhones with USB-C will support something similar to Stage Manager. Stage Manager is Apple’s multitasking feature from the iPad.
This means you might be able to open multiple apps on the external display and move them around, making it easier to get work done or show stuff off.
It’s not full desktop mode like the Mac, but it’s a big step up from basic screen mirroring. This would be great for things like giving presentations, editing photos or videos, or just enjoying content on a bigger screen.

This kind of feature would be a first for iPhones but is something users have been asking for, and it makes the USB-C switch feel more worth it.
Oh, and the timing lines up nicely too. There’s talk that Apple might release a new Studio Display around the same time iOS 19 drops. So if you’ve been thinking about upgrading your setup, this could be a great pairing.
So if you’ve got a USB-C iPhone, iOS 19 could turn it into a much more capable device — especially when plugged into a monitor.
