2019 Apple Watch Getting Ceramic Casing, AirPower, AirPods 2, iPod touch 7 Release Window Rumored

You’ve probably heard of the name Ming-Chi Kuo before, and the man at the center of many Apple rumors over the years is in prolific form right now, sharing his thoughts on the route the company will take throughout 2019. We’ve already shared his thoughts on the iPhone and Mac, and now it’s the Apple Watch and accessories’ turn.

Starting with the Apple Watch, Kuo believes that ECG support will finally roll out to additional countries this year, with the United States still currently the only country in which the life-saving feature is supported. Along with that, Apple will also apparently offer the new Apple Watch in a ceramic case, something that it offered previously as part of a $1299 Apple Watch Edition that is no longer available.

ECG supports developed for additional countries. New ceramic casing design added.

The thought of all Apple Watches being made of the same material isn’t one we can really believe, so we’ll have to see what happens here. It’s much more likely that we will see a return of the high-end Apple Watch, perhaps allowing Apple to knock the stainless steel option down the price range.

Along with the Apple Watch, Kuo had this say on the wonderful world of the AirPods and AirPower: both a refreshed version of AirPods and the charging mat that is still conspicuous by its absence have been rumored for months, with Kuo now saying we can expect them to arrive in the first half of 2019.

As a bonus, Kuo also believes that we will see a new iPod touch with a faster CPU at some point this year, echoing existing rumors that such a thing will happen many years after it last saw any love.
