Apple hardware accessory maker Twelve South has today announced the TimePorter, an Apple Watch travel case and charging solution that is set to go on sale in May, costing $49.99.

Looking very much like a case you may expect to find a pair of spectacles in, the TimePorter has room inside for the Apple Watch’s 2 meter charging cable, charging plug and extra watch bands. It might even fit an Apple Watch inside too, but we’re willing to bet that’s safe and sound on your wrist!

While aimed at keeping all Apple Watch accessories safe on the go, the Twelve South TimePorter also doubles as a charging stand, with a space in the lid for the Apple Watch charging puck. With that puck in place, the Apple Watch can be placed either horizontally or vertically across the TimePorter, allowing it to be charged and visible at all times.

Twelve South has even thought about making sure the TimePorter matches your Apple Watch’s color scheme too, with both black and white leather versions of the travel case available.

This gorgeous capsule is both a case and a stand. TimePorter holds your charging cable, an extra Watch band, your USB charger and more in a neatly designed, silicone-lined case. Pop your charging disc into the integrated opening in TimePorter and drape Apple Watch across the top to charge. With Apple Watch resting on TimePorter, open the case to the preferred angle and TimePorter transforms into a viewing stand, perfect for viewing notifications and the time.

Twelve South has been around since 2009 and makes some of the best accessories around. We’ve no reason to think that the TravelPorter will be any different, and it certainly looks the real deal in the company’s press photos for its unreleased case. We can’t wait to try one out.
