LunaTik iPod Nano Strap Maker Showing The iPhone Some Love Too With Their Upcoming TAKTIK Case [VIDEO]

Remember last year when the LunaTik iPod nano watch strap was all the rage across Kickstarter and pretty much the whole internet? Remember how awesome it was? So do we, and that’s why we are quietly excited to see what the LunaTik’s makers have come up with when they say their next project is an iPhone 4 and 4S case that is rugged, water resistant and generally cool.

Called the TAKTIK, and now we don’t like the name either, this particular case is currently up for backing on Kickstarter just as that iPod nano case was. This time, $95 with shipping will get you a new iPhone case, but what exactly is it?

For starters, just looking at the photos will show you that this case means business. With the iPhone 4 and 4S not really known for its durability, a case can be an essential accessory for many, and this particular case takes things one step further.

The case completely encases your iPhone, with another layer of Corning Gorilla Glass covering your iPhone’s screen. That does not impede usability, but does help to protect the screen from life’s everyday bumps and scrapes. The rest of the phone is safe too, thanks to the case’s shockproof suspension system that means the iPhone can be thrown around like a toy, with the handset safe and sound tucked up inside the TAKTIK. Just watching some of the video that is currently the centerpiece of the Kickstarter project gives us chills, but we are told the case can stand up to it.

The case is water resistant, too, with all external ports covered yet still accessible via little flaps that, at least in the photos and video, appear to be much more sturdy than you would imagine from an iPhone case. The whole device gives the feeling of solidity, something you want from a product that promises to keep your iPhone safe when it is out in the big bad world.

As of the time of writing, the project is currently sat at the $35,000 mark with a target of $150,000 and 29 days to go. That’s a tall order, and the company is promising to have the accessory ready to ship by August. Don’t worry if you plan on getting a new iPhone in October though, as apparently an iPhone 5 model will be available too.
