Chinese case and accessory makers are always a mile ahead when it comes to making accessories for unannounced hardware, and like every year, things aren’t so different this time either, with an electronics fair being held in Hong Kong that showcases mockups of Apple’s next flagship smartphone along with its yet-to-be released accessories.
Till this point, we’ve seen a bunch of leaks, ranging from leaked schematics of Apple’s flagship smartphone, to the device’s front panel with a larger 4.7-inch display, the battery itself and the mold in which the iPhone 6 will be forged when it goes into production.
The new photos and video that have emerged today show off a mockup of the iPhone 6, which is highly likely based on leaked information which we’ve witnessed in the past few weeks. And as you can see for yourself, the mockup is nothing more than a detail lacking slab of metal with a larger display – of course – and features rounded edges which we’re pretty much acquainted with, thanks to the iPad Air and the iPad mini.
It’s hard to tell what makes these accessory manufacturers so sure that this will indeed be what the iPhone 6 will end up looking like. After all, we’ve seen in the past that case makers have been proven wrong, with Apple throwing in a few surprises at the day of the keynote.
Take a look at the photos of the accessories and the star of the show – iPhone 6 mockup – below for yourself:
As you can see from the photos, there’s nothing much to take away from them, except from the fact that the confidence of the accessory manufacturers this time is sky high, just like the years before. And considering that the smartphone accessory business is huge in terms of money, it’s a huge bet to place your cards on something that hasn’t been announced just yet. But still, these manufacturers really deserve a pat on the back for at least advertising that the iPhone 6 is ‘coming soon’.
Apart from the photos posted above, we also have a hands-on video with the mockup, check it out below:
What do you think, will the iPhone 6 end up looking like this? Or will Apple surprise us again?
