Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 lineup this coming September, and that means that there are some high-end models to look forward to.
One addition to the lineup is expected to be the iPhone 17 Air, and a new video shows just how incredibly thin it might be.
We’ve been hearing lots about the iPhone 17 Air of late, and now YouTuber Unbox Therapy has shared a video of a dummy iPhone 17 Air alongside dummy units for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The iPhone 17 Air is set to be just 5.5mm thick, which will make it the thinnest iPhone ever. It’ll also be considerably thinner than the iPhone 17 Pro models, which are expected to come in at around 8.73mm. That means that there will be a noticeable difference between the iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro that sits alongside it in the lineup.
Making a new iPhone that thin will no doubt have some people concerned about rigidity, especially after the iPhone 6 Plus experienced bendgate back in 2014. However, it’s now thought that Apple will use titanium and aluminum as materials to try and prevent a repeat of that particular issue.
If Apple sticks to its usual release pattern, it’s likely to announce the iPhone 17 lineup in September, alongside at least one new Apple Watch and a slew of software updates.
