‘Underwhelming’ Apple Intelligence Struggles To Boost iPhone Sales As Expected

If you’re underwhelmed by what Apple Intelligence has to offer then you aren’t alone. And Apple is well aware of the issues, according to one well-known analyst.

According to a MacRumors report, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple knows that the current Apple Intelligence features have not captured the imagination of iPhone users and what’s more, they won’t drive future iPhone sales.

As a result, Apple has supposedly warned its suppliers to expect relatively conservative iPhone shipments.

Lately, the market consensus has shifted to a more cautious stance on iPhone shipments and Apple Intelligence (Siri), which supports my earlier predictions. Moreover, it’s clear that when Apple shared conservative shipment forecasts with its key suppliers early this year, they had already factored in Apple Intelligence’s underwhelming performance.

Apple had hoped that its generative AI features would help close the gap between iPhones and those powered by Android but, so far, Apple Intelligence has been found lacking. It’s slow and often cumbersome to use across the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And even the features that do work are less than impressive compared to those provided by Google and others.

It’s previously been reported that Apple has now delayed plans to launch additional Apple Intelligence features and that they might not now come until much later this year or indeed into 2026 instead.
