The Popular VLC Media Player Is Coming To The Apple Vision Pro Soon

The Apple Vision Pro has been on sale for a few weeks now and the App Store continues to fill up with new apps all the time.

There is still room for a great video player though, and now it seems that we might one day see VLC take its place, too.

That’s following the news that VideoLAN president Jean-Baptiste Kempf told Lowpass writer Janko Roettgers that there is already a version of VLC running on the Apple Vision Pro, although there is little indication that it will launch any time soon.

The reason for that appears to be the relatively low number of people who actually have an Apple Vision Pro with the VideoLAN president suggesting that there simply might not be a big enough market to make launching the software into the App Store worthwhile. That’s sure to be disappointing news, but it might not be all that of a surprise.

Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, and others have suggested just as much in recent weeks after they decided not to launch their apps on the Apple Vision Pro on day one. That could all change in the future, however, especially when the headset goes son sale in additional countries.

Right now, the Apple Vision Pro is only available in the United States which is a huge limitation, although the UK, China, and Canada have been tipped to be next on the list for launches. The starting price of $3,499 is also an issue and likely means that adoption will never be huge until Apple finds a way to reduce that price considerably.
