According to a report published earlier today, Apple is looking to introduce Retina Displays to their MacBook Pro lineup of high-end notebooks. Details available after the jump!
There can be little argument that Apple's MacBook Air line of ultra-thin, ultra-portable notebooks has been a success. Despite initial skepticism when the first 13" model launched with slow hardware and super small hard disks, the last two iterations have offered a much more robust machine.
According to information gathered by 9to5mac, the current stock of MacBook Pros are seriously low, which can mean one of two things; Either the demand is significantly outweighing the supply, or Apple is planning to alter the line-up.
According to sources familiar with such arrangements, Apple could be preparing a surprise update to its MacBook Pro range. With Intel's next-gen Core i-Series mobile platform not anticipated to arrive until at least Q2 next year, it is thought that Apple will inject some minor changes to keep consumers happy until then.
Oh those lucky, lucky fellows. Engadget's Nilay Patel has had his hands on one of the new 15" MacBook Pros to test, and it's one impressive-looking machine. Just running through the specs sheet makes my wallet cry, but is it worth it?
Apple has finally unveiled the new MacBook Pro family which is powered by Intel Core i5, Core i7 and even Quad Core processors. Powered by Intel Sandy Bridge processors, the Quad Core option is only available for 15 and 17-inch models. Core i5 and Core i7 option though is available on all three models, that is, 13, 15 and 17-inches.
Specs sheet and photos of soon-to-be-released Intel Sandy Bridge powered MacBook Pro line has leaked into the wild. The new MacBook Pro will sport Light Peak technology, which Apple is said to be calling as Thunderbolt, an HD video camera for FaceTime-HD calls, and more.
It's pretty much accepted now that we'll be treated to a MacBook Pro refresh in the next week or two, but unusually there hasn't been the level of leaks we tend to see before a major line-refresh. BGR however does have some interesting tidbits to share, with one in particular surprising all of us.
So you thought iPad 2 was the only real deal for the first half of 2011? Think again as new rumors are just in for more Apple devices getting a revision next year.
