In countries where Apple doesn’t officially support iPhone 4, prices go as high as $1500 for a software-unlocked set. But that really is nothing compared to what British designer Stuart Hughes has managed to pull off.
Back in July, Apple officially announced that they would be delaying the white iPhone 4 to a non-specific date (sometime later in 2010, according to an email exchange) because they were turning out “to be more challenging to manufacture than [Apple] originally expected”.
Rumors for a CDMA-based Verizon iPhone for 2011 are getting stronger and stronger by the day. We’ve previously seen claims from Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch and today, Wall Street Journal has gone ahead and called it a settled deal.

Android-based smartphones have their screen resolutions, even of the highest-end sets, limited at 800 (or 854) x 480 pixels. That includes the current top-of-the-line EVO 4G, Desire HD, Samsung Galaxy S and Nexus One.
Let me get this straight outta the gate: Google’s Android mobile OS is coming soon to iPhone 4!! Android can already run on iPhone EDGE (2G), 3G and iPod touch. My first post here on Redmond Pie was about the iPhone 5: An allegedly magical, amazing phone that will once again, somehow according to Apple, revolutionize the smartphone industry. In accordance with Apple’s standard release schedule, an iPhone 4S should be announced sometime next year with an all new iPhone 5 to be released in 2012.
The whole Gizmodo-buying-an-4th-generation-iPhone-from-a-dude-who-left-it-in-an-bar issue is now coming to a close. The story started with Brian J Hogan finding the prototype iPhone (now known as iPhone 4) unattended in a bar who then sold it to Gizmodo for $5,000. Gizmodo editor Jason Chen then, of course, published a mammoth report on it and garnered over 20 million views and most of all, Apple’s attention.
Apple announced on 23rd July that they would be delaying the white iPhone 4 and that it would be available later this year. And with only three months left until 2010 comes to a close, Christmas would be the perfect time for Apple to release it.
