Apple Insider has received information from a “person with proven knowledge of Apple’s future product plans” that Apple will soon be introducing FaceTime/video-chat capable iPads.
Mac4ever has posted rumors in a post today where they say that FaceTime, a video chatting service for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G, will soon be coming to iChat which is an IM application that comes with OS X. They also say that iLife 11 (without iDVD) is coming soon.
MiTime app for iPhone 4 has been released which fixes and / or activates FaceTime on unlocked iPhone 4s which are running on unofficial unsupported carriers such as T-Mobile US. According to the description of the app, it should work on just about any carrier worldwide. You must be able to receive an international SMS message to get FaceTime activated via MiTime.
Folks at the MacMagazine claims to have got this information from reliable sources within Apple who has confirmed to them that instead of the usual Apple’s “Media event” in September, Apple this year will be hosting their event as early as mid of this August, somewhere around 14th to 16th. Since 14th August falls on Saturday, what they believe is that the event is likely going to be held on Monday or Tuesday i.e. 16th or 17th of this month.
MacRumors has got hold of parts of LCD assembly which is claimed to be from the upcoming 4th-generation iPod touch. The bezel over the front-LCD has a hole in the top center which is most likely going to be for a front-facing camera for making FaceTime video calls across all iOS devices. The rumors of the iPod touch getting a camera soon are catching fire everyday. Different sources are convinced that the new iPod touch for sure will get this major refresh this fall. Apple today started airing four new commercials to promote iPhone 4’s FaceTime feature. All commercials titled: Smile, Big News, Meet Her and Haircut are full of human emotions. What Apple is doing here is pretty evident, they are trying to connect iPhone 4 with human emotions and heart. Yes, there is now a phone for that !
