New Apple Pencil Pro Appears In Apple’s Website Code

Apple is set to hold an online event on May 7, tomorrow, and the strong expectation is that the company will unveil new iPads.

There has been an expectation that Apple will also announce new iPad accessories and now website code suggests an Apple Pencil Pro is on route.

Apple’s May 7 event is being advertised online and one X social network user has spotted that the Apple Japan website’s banner for the event is described as a creator holding an Apple Pencil Pro in the source code. Apple doesn’t currently sell an Apple Pencil Pro.

Apple does of course sell the Apple Pencil: Apple Pencil (1st-generation), Apple Pencil (2nd-generation), and Apple Pencil (USB-C). Terrible naming aside, we were expecting an Apple Pencil (3rd-generation) to be announced tomorrow. Now, it appears that we should expect that the new stylus will be called Apple Pencil Pro instead.

However, it’s important to note that the same reference isn’t found on the US Apple website so it’s possible there is some strange translation going on here.

But it’s also important to note that the Apple Pencil 3 rumors point to a new squeeze gesture, among other things, so it’s possible Apple could market the new model as the Pro version.

Apple Pencil notwithstanding, Apple is expected to announce new OLED iPad Pro tablets as well as a refreshed iPad 6, while a more sturdy Apple Magic Keyboard is also thought to be in the cards.
