LTE Version Of Apple Watch Series 3 Launches In 4 New Countries

Apple has now made its Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE connectivity available in a handful of new countries following a pre-order phase which kicked off on May 4th.

If you’re on the lookout for a new Apple Watch with LTE built in and reside in Denmark, Sweden, Indian or Taiwan then you can now pop into your local Apple Store and pick one up for the first time.

If you do opt for the cellular connectivity option then you’ll be getting your data via 3 in both Denmark and Sweden while Indian customers can choose from either Reliance Jio and Airtel. Interestingly, neither Indian carrier will charge their customers an additional fee for adding an Apple Watch to their plan, with the device simply plugging into the user’s existing bucket of data, minutes and text messages.

Those buying in Taiwan have more choice, with PT3, Chunghwa Telecom3, FarEasTone3, and Taiwan Mobile all offering Apple Watch support from day one.

The addition of the new countries means that the Apple Watch Series 3 models with LTE connectivity are now available in a host of countries, many more than launch day back in September of last year. Those countries now include United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, Denmark, Sweden, India, and finally, Taiwan.

By adding support for LTE connectivity the Apple Watch gains an autonomy that the previous devices could not offer. Without the need for an Apple iPhone being nearby the Apple Watch can be used as a true fitness companion, able to access streaming music and make calls so long as an LTE connection is available.
