Apple might be gearing up to release new versions of the HomePod mini and Apple TV later this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
In his latest newsletter, Gurman shared that these devices are likely to launch sometime between September and November.
The updates are part of Apple’s bigger plans for smart home gadgets. Alongside the new HomePod mini and Apple TV, Apple is reportedly working on a home hub for this year, plus a Face ID doorbell/lock and a security camera for 2026.
The upcoming HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to include Apple’s custom Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip. This chip supports Wi-Fi 6E, which uses the 6 GHz band to improve speed and reduce lag when paired with a compatible router.
Possible upgrades for the Apple TV could include a faster A-series chip, a built-in camera for FaceTime calls, and starting price of $99. The HomePod mini might get a new S-series chip for better performance, improved audio quality, and new color options. The last update to the HomePod mini was back in November 2020.
By releasing these devices later in the year, Apple leaves room for other announcements earlier, such as updated versions of the MacBook Air, iPhone SE, AirTag, and an entry-level iPad. Looks like 2025 could be packed with exciting Apple launches!
