Download: iOS 14.5 Beta 2 And New Betas Of iPadOS 14.5, tvOS 14.5, watchOS 7.4 Released

Apple today released a whole new run of betas across its various platforms, with iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV all getting in on the action. As of now, iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, tvOS 14.5, and watchOS 7.4 beta 2 are all available to developers.

Those who are registered developers and have the required beta program installed can install the new updates now over-the-air, while it’s also likely that the same updates will be made available to those on the public beta program as soon as tomorrow.

This round of updates is a big one, specifically for iPhone and iPad users. With watchOS 7.4 and iOS 14.5 installed, users can take advantage of a new feature that will allow them to unlock their iPhones with their Apple Watches. The feature is designed to make life with a mask on a little easier to deal with – especially if you’re using an iPhone with Face ID.

The tvOS 14.5 update also adds support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X game controllers for the first time, too.

In terms of watchOS 7.4, users can also take advantage of the new Apple Fitness+ feature that allows users to enjoy their fitness workouts via AirPlay 2 for the first time.

With this being beta 2 it’s likely we’ll see a few more arrive before these updates are made available to the world at large. We haven’t experienced an issues with the previous betas ourselves, but you never know what could go wrong in beta 2!
