Download: iOS 13.6 GM Released Complete With CarKey Support And More

Alongside the public iOS 14 beta, Apple today also released the iOS 13.6 GM to developers ahead of a public release.

The new update adds a few new features starting with the first implementation of Apple CarKey, a feature that will allow users to lock, unlock, and start their cars without a physical key.

CarKey will also allow users to share keys with other people as needed, too.

Wallet allows you to add and share car keys for certain vehicles. You may add a car key by signing in to your vehicle manufacturer’s app or entering a pairing code in Wallet to claim the vehicle as your own and pair your device with your vehicle. If successful, your device sends Apple a one-time owner redemption token. Apple uses the redemption token, information abotu your location at the time of provisioning (if Location Services is enabled) for fraud prevention purposes.

Alongside that, Apple News+ Audio is also being added that allows users to listen to Apple News+ content rather than reading it. Apple has also added new symptoms to the iOS 13.6 Health app as well as other tweaks to the Apple News app.

There’s no indication when iOS 13.6 will be made available to the public, but it isn’t likely to be too far out given the fact this is the GM release.
