ChatGPT For iOS Gets An iPad App, Now Supports Siri And Shortcuts

OpenAI announced its first official ChatGPT app for the iPhone back in May and now it’s brought a big new update to that app to the App Store.

The new update is now available for download in the App Store and perhaps the biggest improvement is the availability of a real iPad version for the first time. That means that ChatGPT now makes better use of the iPad’s bigger display, making for a much better improvement.

ChatGPT now also supports drag and drop so that messages can be easily moved between it and other apps.

However, power users will no doubt be more interested in the arrival of Siri and Shortcuts support, allowing ChatGPT to be used hands-free while also being integrated into shortcuts.

Engadget details what this actually means for users.

For example, ask ChatGPT to answer a problem or look up a fact and then message the response to your friend or save it as a note. You can also now ask Siri to bring up ChatGPT or create these Shortcuts. ChatGPT for iOS already utilizes OpenAI’s Whisper speech recognition for voice input, with Siri further expanding its accessibility.

You can get your hands on the newly updated Chat GPT app right now and it is of course free. Those who already have the app installed can updated it via the usual App Store mechanism and those with automatic updates enabled might already have it installed.
