Ben Reid·March 20, 2015
Amazon's Prime Now, which offers a one-hour delivery service in Manhattan, has just extended its reach to Baltimore and Miami in the United States, meaning consumers in those areas can receive certain ordered items within 60 minutes of checking out. It's an ambitious project from the online retail giant that has, so far, seemingly worked well, and with Baltimore and Miami now covered, paying Prime subscribers will be able to take full advantage.

Facebook Adds Features To Help With Potentially Suicidal Situations

Ben Reid·February 27, 2015
Social networks offer a means for folk to express their feelings on a public forum, but while, for the most part, status updates on Facebook consist of the odd gripe or in-depth detailing of one's daily schedule, there are occasions where those upset, depressed, or otherwise feeling low, may wish to share more ominous, worrisome sentiments. When this occurs, there's often that fear that an individual isn't in a well state of mind, and may be considering taking their own life, and with Facebook connecting well over one-sixth of the world's population, the Menlo Park firm has now added some features that may prove life-saving.

This Service Will Get You Anything You Want Using A Simple Text Message

Ben Reid·February 26, 2015
Have you ever wanted your own personal assistant ready to respond to your every beckoned call? I'm not talking about Siri or Google Now, which will both tell you the football scores or what the weather's going to be like next weekend; I mean a real assistant, more like a secretary - one that will fetch you a pizza or book you flights to suit your needs at the drop of a hat. A newly-introduced service has taken the idea of a butler / chauffeur / servant and rolled it into a magical new text-based system, and provided your request is on the right side of legal, any product or service is just a text away.

HTTP/2 Standard Gets Seal Of Approval, Securing Faster Future For The Web

Ben Reid·February 19, 2015
When an Apple or a Samsung comes through with such innovations as fingerprint sensors or NFC, we tend to take much notice. But the advancement of the Web and the wider digital community depends more upon those changes that aren't necessarily as obvious nor welcomed with the same amount of fanfare. But in news that should be gratefully received by each and every user of digital products (read: everyone), it appears that HTTP/2, a natural progression from traditional Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) in terms of speed and efficiency, is well on its way, having just been finalized by the appropriate body.
