Weather 2x Is A Gorgeous Weather App For iOS With Full Support For The iPhone 5

Paul Morris·September 25, 2012
It seems that the days of having four predictable weather seasons are gone, at least in some parts of the world. Inclement weather conditions can have a huge impact on our lives and can dramatically alter our plans and daily activities, which is why it's a good idea to have at least one premium weather app installed on our devices that allow us to keep track of the changing conditions in specific localities. Plenty of weather apps exist on iOS, with Weather 2x being one that has been recently updated and enhanced for the new iPhone 5.

The iOS App Store is an extremely active place at the moment as the Apple review team struggle to fight their way through the barrage of apps that are being sent to them by developers with iPhone 5 and iOS 6 compatibility upgrades. We've already seen a number of notable and popular apps getting the support for the larger display of the new iPhone with Google now joining the party with a welcome update to their extremely popular Chrome for iOS web browser.

iPhone 5 Wallpaper Apps For Your Shiny New Smartphone

Ben Reid·September 23, 2012
Yes, the new iPhone 5 is thinner, lighter, and generally more aesthetically-pleasing than its predecessor and, in fact, any iPhone before it. Aside from those three key improvements, the other noticeable alteration is that of the new display. In terms of pixel density, it's the same as both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but that is where the similarities end. As well as being more vibrant than any previous Apple smartphone display, it's noticeably larger, and while the width remains the same, the additional block of real-estate at the top of the device pushes the diameter up to the 4-inch mark.

AquaBoard For iPhone Adds Beautiful Water Ripple Effects Throughout iOS

Paul Morris·September 22, 2012
With all the talk focused around the iPhone 5 lately, it is easy to lose sight of all those individuals who are running devices like the iPhone 4 or 4S on earlier versions of iOS and are still enjoying their untethered jailbreak. The jailbreak dev teams will be looking for ways to liberate the iPhone 5 that's for certain, but in the mean time, the show must go on, and thankfully the release of yet another great little package from Elias Limneos is ensuring that it goes on in great style.

Here’s A List Of iOS 6 Passbook Compatible Apps For iPhone

Ben Reid·September 21, 2012
iOS 6 has only just made it way onto iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices worldwide, and despite Apple bragging of some 200 new changes, it's fair to day many are struggling to find many of real significance moving forward. Although the Maps app may have come as a disappointment, there's quite a bit of anticipation encircling Passbook - Apple's very own answer to NFC - and although there aren't too many establishments supporting the Cupertino's flagship iOS 6 feature, more and more apps are being added to the App Store at an hourly rate.

Momento Is The Best Diary / Journal iPhone App For People With An Active Online Life

Awais Imran·September 17, 2012
A few days ago, I reviewed Wonderful Days for iOS – an app that lets you maintain a diary / journal on the go. In that post, I mentioned Momento for people who wanted their journal entries to have more context in the form of tweets and Facebook updates they’ve posted online; I thought it would be a nice thing to review Momento on its own as it is a whole lot more than a diary with tweets / status updates. Check it out after the jump.

UpTo For iPhone Gives You A Real-Time Social Feed Of Upcoming Events

Paul Morris·September 16, 2012
Devices like the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad are becoming increasingly popular simply due to the fact that they allow users to remain connected to the surrounding world no matter where they are. The great thing about humans is that we are, by nature, a social species who love nothing more than interacting with one another and creating connections that last a life-time. Smartphones and mobile devices have allowed those connections to be made on the move and the UpTo app from Rock City Apps certainly makes that easier.
