The recently released VLC app for iPhone, and the iPad version may soon be gone from the App Store, reports, TUAW. The developers behind the popular VLC Media Player claims that the iOS version of VLC available in the App Store is “violating GNU public license under which VLC is released by applying DRM to it”.
We reported recently of the iPad coming to Verizon. Well, starting from today, Verizon Wireless and AT&T will sell the iPad directly from their stores. The iPad will be sold in three different packages starting from $629 and going up to $829.

After releasing PwnageTool 4.1.1 yesterday, the iPhone Dev Team today has silently updated PwnageTool to 4.1.2 to fix jailbreaking issues for OS X 1.5.x Leopard users. Again, as far as the jailbreak, compatibility and the exploit is concerned, this release offers nothing new except for this bug fix.

For those of you who don’t know, Sn0wbreeze for Windows, like PwnageTool for Mac, can create custom firmware files without the upgraded baseband so that you can unlock your phone using the existing version of Ultrasn0w.
The iPhone Dev Team has finally teased us with a screenshot of the upcoming PwnageTool 4.1 for all iOS devices. This new version of PwnageTool is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit which will allow us to restore custom cooked firmwares (without the upgraded 05.14.04 / 2.10.4 basebands) on almost all the current iOS devices, including: iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPhone 3G, Apple TV, iPad and iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G. This will enable all iPhone users to unlock using the current version of Ultrasn0w so that they can use the phone on any carrier they like!
