Blush Gold iPhone 8 May Be The Official Name Of Copper Gold Color

It’s fair to say that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 will introduce a number of sweeping changes and inject a new lease of life into the iPhone lineup. One of those changes, as brought to our attention last week, suggested that the Cupertino-based company would introduce a new color option, identified at the time as a copper gold finish.

New information shared via Chinese social media is now suggesting that the new finish will be officially marketed as “Blush Gold.”

This latest round of information has made its way into the mainstream after being shared on Twitter by Benjamin Geskin, with the original source being through Weibo, the Chinese social media sharing site. What’s particularly interesting is the information apparently comes directly from a “Foxconn insider,” and suggests that this new Blush Gold finish will only be available on the 64GB and 128GB models of Apple’s new iPhone 8, with that information being taken from the barcode of the packaging.

Well-placed analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, believes that Apple will offer iPhone in three different color variations, with the new copper gold blend being one of those options, but this Blush Gold suggestion is still very much up for debate. If you put the bizarre name aside, one of the main areas of contention appears to be the fact that the new color may only be applicable to the 64GB and 128GB versions of the device. If accurate, that means that the high-end version, which is the most expensive option, wouldn’t be available in this new aesthetic.

The new Blush Gold iPhone 8 – or whatever Apple actually ends up calling it – will sit alongside a stunning white and silver version of the handset. The information which we have already seen suggests that it’s going to be a unique variant of the rose gold that we’ve seen on previous-gen handsets, but given the fact that we already expect iPhone 8 to be released in limited numbers initially it’s highly likely that this new gold version will be difficult to get your hands on, at least initially.

We need to take the Blush Gold idea with a fairly large pinch of salt at the moment. With that said, we are now at a point where it’s weeks until an official announcement rather than months, which is where we could be proved wrong.
