On the other side of the world, where we often meet ourselves, is an array of mobile app icons that can be brutally honest to you if you give it a chance. Icons help you quickly identify one app from the other, but what tells you what that app is really meant for, or what their existence means to you and your mobile device. As I eerily tread borderline 'cuckoo', I'll ask you if you believe in any stereotype characterizations for some of the famous smartphone apps out there.
With just a few days left to the unveiling of the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 at Apple's event, well-known designer Martin Hajek has released rendered images of the new tablets from the Cupertino giant. Hajek's images are an attempt to showcase what the iPad Air 2 and mini 3 could look like if Apple decides to take design cues from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Unlike the previous generations, the new iPhones have taken an altogether different design route with curved edges, plastic bands dividing the rear aluminum backplate into three regions, and an overall slimmer shell. It would be the first time that Apple launched a phone with a protruding camera as well. Hajek takes these design elements and shows us what unsurprisingly looks like a stretched iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple has pulled off a magical logistics and marketing stunt with the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as sales record hit an all time high on the launch date, with over 10 million units in its first weekend of release. Then we have China, which has already reported over 20 million pre-orders for the October 17th release, and that's just stats from the supporting carriers and an online Chinese Web store. Apple has announced that it will be releasing the new iPhone in 36 countries, including China and India on October 17th, along with Monaco as well. For more, read on after the jump!
Boost Mobile - Sprint's prepaid subsidiary - has announced the availability of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from October 17th, at discount of $100, making it the first prepaid carrier to offer these devices. It is interesting to see that the devices will be made available a day right after the Apple event in Cupertino on the 16th. Earlier when the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were launched, the carrier slashed off $100 of the original retail price, just like it has done so for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Here's how you can fix the most common iOS 8 related problems and issues running on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Tips to speed up iOS 8 on your iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini and other devices. Pretty much akin to how every new major release of iOS slowly eats away at, at least one generation of supported devices, the iPhone 4s and older-gen iPads have fallen right into that infamous generation of 'too slow' devices. If you have upgraded your older device to iOS 8 and are really feeling that slowing down of time, there are a couple of steps you can take to speed up your device. Read on after the jump for the details.

The iOS vs. Android debate has been the rage for quite some time now in this world of mobile technology. And on top of that, Apple vs. Samsung lawsuits are hardly surprising anymore today. However, that said, Apple has been around way longer than Google has, and so has Microsoft. The rivalry between Apple and Microsoft is one based primarily on the computer generation, starting from the earliest days of the desktop. To this age, the OS X vs. Windows debate carries on, where PC users are corporate drones, and Mac users are well, blinded by brand. To their defense, PC users are a more intelligent breed while their Mac counterparts are creative thinkers with a taste for aesthetics. What does this speak about the general users of these brands? Are these consumers really that different from one another or is this where the dissimilarities end? We find out, right after the jump!
Android is not new to news of security bugs and vulnerabilities, but continues to roll on in spite of such news. Just recently, Rafay Baloch of RBH discovered a vulnerability in Android’s stock browser, including all browsers based on the stock AOSP code. This vulnerability was a serious one which caused the browser to fail in enforcing the Same Origin Policy (SOP) protocol, which basically governs how content from multiple resources is securely loaded into the browser. While this issue plagued pre-KitKat devices, Google was quick in patching it up. However, given the nature of Android’s ecosystem, updates aren’t rolled out that quickly, resulting in almost 45% Android devices out there that remain vulnerable according to the security experts at Lookout. Please note that this data is based on their apps user-base that is over 100 million, so it does make an interesting case nonetheless.
