Did you know? Apple is worth more than Microsoft! As of writing, Apple is worth a whopping $262.53 billion dollars while Microsoft: $212B. One of the bigger reasons for its increasing stock worth is the iPhone - a smartphone introduced back in 2007 that literally revolutionized the cell phone market. Today, the iPhone is used as a benchmark, as a standard by which the quality of other phones are measured.

First of Apple TV reviews are now all over the web. The iOS-based media streaming device, which will be jailbroken in the future, uses iTunes, YouTube, Netflix (as well as Flickr / MobileMe) to bring you video content right in your living room. It costs a magical $99 and releases this week.
Two days back Taimur, resident admin here at Redmond Pie, tweeted that a post comparing iPhone 4 with iPod touch 4G / 3G would be going up soon. Well, if you can read this, it means we’ve fulfilled our promise!
Hah, As if we didn’t know this already! DisplayMate conducted an indepth review/analysis of all major smartphone displays (namely: iPhone 4, 3GS, Galaxy S, Droid, Nexus One) to test which display had the best overall quality. And the results are in.
In our earth-SHAttering honest efforts in bringing you the latest and greatest news from the world of jailbreaks and unlocks, we often publish posts that arise from simple tweets from some very important people. This is another one of those posts and it’s coming from none other than the Chronic Dev Team (the guys behind the upcoming GreenPois0n jailbreaking tool).
Google’s very own smartphone and current developer device - the Nexus One - is now receiving an OTA update for Android 2.2.1 (Build FRG83). It is unclear at the moment what the update does, but it is safe to say that it probably fixes bugs and improves general stability. It does, however, remove the ability to perform one-click rooting.
While there are dozens upon dozens of patents that Apple has been granted, very few reach the quirkiness of the patent that Apple was granted today. The patent handed out day is that of a handheld device (think: future iPods, iPads and iPhones) that use capacitive, resistive touchscreens as as well surface acoustic wave forms (wth?) to recognize your hands/fingers simply by the way you hold it.
Neowin has received information that Microsoft is set to launch a wide range of Windows Phone 7 devices on October 21 in UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain (US 21st Oct release date is not confirmed yet).
In light of the recent relaxed App Store restrictions, Apple has started allowing previously unallowed apps into their App Store. The biggest beneficiaries of the relaxed restrictions were Google Voice apps which weren't allowed before (since they duplicated features that iPhone comes with). We posted about two such apps: GV Connect and GV Mobile+. Both cost a very reasonable $2.99. But today, we have received information that GV Mobile+ is available for free just for today!
An Apple netbook? Say it isn’t so! While netbooks tend to fall in the 8-10” screen-size category, it would be a little foolish not to consider 11-inchers as netbooks. I, personally, believe that any laptop of screen size < 13” and not having a CD-ROM is to be considered as a netbook.
