Microsoft has today released Silverlight 2 RC0 to developers for testing purposes and to help them prepare their existing Silverlight 2 Beta 2 applications for the final bits which is expected to roll out at the end of this year.

Microsoft has released an update to XNA Game Studio 3.0 the day they have released the new Zune software and firmware. This release basically provides compatibility for game development on Zune firmware 3.0 devices along with full support to Visual Studio 2008.

Based on Windows Server 2003 codebase, Windows Home Server is intended to be a solution for homes with multiple connected PCs which offers file sharing, automated backups, and remote access.
9/9/08 has been an exciting day full of releases. After the Zunes and iPods were announced with the later getting all the media attention, Microsoft stepped in and unveiled some seriously sexy looking hardware which includes mice, a Wireless Desktop with Aero Glass and the new LifeCam.
If you think that only iTunes can provide you with three-dimensional interface to visually browse through your digital movies library then you are wrong. Comes in Movie Browser that does a Cover Flow right into your Windows Media Center environment. Its an open source project and is still in its infancy stage but provides by far the most visually stunning interface for any app in Windows Media Center.
In June 2008, Mac BU (aka Mactopia) team released the latest version(7.0.1) of Messenger for Mac which improved support for users of the VoiceOver feature in OS X. It also fixed user interface issues that appeared when Messenger was used with some European languages. But even this latest version is a no match to its Windows counterpart, known as Windows Live Messenger.
