Users all over the world are having their say about the relatively recent revelations of spying and stealth information capture that seems to be standard practice within certain departments. That heightened sense of awareness hasn't been helped by the fact that a keen eyed programmer came across a block of code in Apple's new OS for the Mac - OS X Mavericks - that suggests that the Californian giants are watching us. As we expected, it turns out that jumping to an initial conclusion without all of the evidence generally ends up with the wrong assumption being reached.

Do you remember the Sony PocketSation? Nope? Well it has been 14 years since it was announced and 11 years since it was laid to rest by the Japanese company so we won't judge you for not keeping it in your thoughts. The unfortunate looking Sony device was an original PlayStation accessory that was sold as a combination of a Memory Card and a personal digital assistant. It came with an LCD display, infra-red connectivity and even a clock. We haven't had to apportion any of our thoughts to the PocketStation for over a decade, but a very bizarre Sony teaser could suggest that the company is planning a revival for the device in time for the PlayStation 4 arrival.
With over one million apps currently residing on Apple's servers the chances are that iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users are pretty much covered across all of the various app categories. With that said, we all have our own personal favorite apps, right? The extremely popular Flipboard social news magazine is definitely one of the more sought-after offerings for iOS devices, and today, it has just received a bump to version 2.1 with a few new goodies thrown in for new and existing users.
The LG-manufactured Nexus 5 is now available for immediate purchase and it looks exactly like the speculation had suggested. It features a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 1080p 4.95-inch display. And it runs Android 4.4 KitKat, which incidentally was also released alongside the new flagship Google device. The release of Android 4.4 means that developers, mobile enthusiasts and general tinkerers have had a chance to delve into the heart of the operating system in an attempt to extract as much goodness that is humanly possible.
The Nexus 5 received so much pre-announcement speculation and attention that its success was pretty much guaranteed before it even hit the shelves. The Google initiated and LG-manufactured device has managed to pretty much cement itself as the hottest smartphone on the market at the minute, and immediately after its launch, people started to see shortages in stock. If you're waiting for delivery of your unit, or just couldn't get your hands on one then why not get your hands on the official Nexus 5 wallpapers from Android 4.4 KitKat right now?
The frantic holiday shopping season typically kicks into overdrive during November and usually involves consumers picking up the latest and greatest tech to be offered by some of the world's largest household names. This year's focus will undoubtedly be front and center on the gaming industry, with Sony and Microsoft both pushing out new consoles during November, both of which will benefit from exceptional titles like Battlefield 4. But which platform will render the game better?
Halloween is not a day that we would associate with receiving technology based gifts but it seems that Google is making an exception on this occasion. The Nexus 5 has been officially announced by the Mountain View giant, designed and manufactured in conjunction with LG. Not content with dishing out some exceptional new hardware, Google has also announced that Android 4.4 KitKat will be made available for a whole host of existing devices in the coming weeks.
It's definitely been a long time coming. We've been hearing rumors about the existence of the device for quite some time. We've been seeing leaked images doing the rounds on the Internet for almost as long. Thankfully, we no longer have to speculate on the existence of the device and its technical specifications as the LG-manufactured Nexus 5 has now been officially announced by Google.
Whenever a company updates a successful and well used product line with a new model it generally causes consumers to consider their position. Will their existing hardware and software combination become redundant? Will the company in question continue to offer support and period updates going forward, or will they need to bite the bullet and invest in the new product? All of those questions must have been going through the head of existing Nike FuelBand users when the newer FuelBand SE model was announced not that long ago. Nike has now confirmed that existing original FuelBand users will not be left behind and will indeed get a host of new features when the second-generation wristband launches on November 6.
We think it's pretty fair to say that Apple's recent announcement of the iPad Air didn't exactly blow everyone's mind when it comes to technological innovation. The unveiling of the next-generation full-sized iPad pretty much fell in line with what the majority were expecting in the fact that it offers an improved but evolutionary upgrade from its predecessor. The introduction of the Apple A7 chipset and the improved engineering principles mean that the device will ultimately be faster, lighter and thinner than all other iPads to date, but the Primate Labs Geekbench 3 tests give us a pre-release indication of just how capable the iPad Air is.
