Apple recently released iOS 26.4.1 and iOS 18.7.7 to the public, bringing important security fixes to iPhones new and old. But some people might hold off updating for fear of the releases affecting their battery life – and this video seeks to confirm whether that should be a concern or not.
The video, posted to YouTube by iAppleBytes, puts a variety of iPhones through their battery paces using Geekbench’s battery benchmark. Battery issues normally affect older iPhones more than new ones, so it’s important for the test to include those devices.

You can check out the full video to get a feel for how your own iPhone will be affected by this update, especially compared to previous releases. The video itself only runs for six minutes, and is well worth checking out.
We won’t spoil the results here, but we will say that we recommend installing bug and security fixes, like these updates, as soon as possible. Apple releases them for a reason, and it’s vital to make sure that your iPhone is protected. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like the battery tests of these updates will put too many people off updating this time around.
These updates don’t bring any new features with them, but Apple is readying its big iOS 27 update. That will bring untold tweaks and updates to the way the iPhone works and will be announced at WWDC in June. The update will be made available to the public this fall.
