Tesla Just Added A Cheaper Cybertruck And Slashed The Cyberbeast’s Price

Tesla has announced a new, cheaper version of its Cybertruck electric pickup in the United States while also slashing the price of the range-topping Cyberbeast in an attempt to drive custom.

The new entry-level Cybertruck is the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive model, which sells for $59,990.

However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a post on the X social network that this price would only apply for the next 10 days — apparently in an attempt to push potential buyers to make the purchase as soon as possible. Neither Musk not Tesla have confirmed what the price will be once that 10-day period has expired.

At the opposite end of the lineup, Tesla also slashed the price of the Cyberbeast version of the Cybertruck from almost $115,000 to $99,990, dipping just below the important $100,000 price point.

Reuters notes that the move also includes the discontinuation of the “Luxe Package” which previously included Supervised Full Self-Driving and free access to its Supercharger network.

Both of these moves could be seen as Tesla’s admission that the Cybertruck is not currently hitting the company’s sales targets.

The company recently announced that it would end production of the Model X SUV and Model S sedan to allow it to focus on the company’s humanoid robot endeavors. The move will leave the Cybertruck, entry-level Model 3, and the crossover Model Y as the company’s only EVs.
