The iPhone Air’s MagSafe Battery Charges AirPods And Apple Watches, Too

Apple announced the iPhone Air alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max earlier this week as well as an Air-exclusive MagSafe battery pack.

Now, a new report notes that the battery pack will also work with AirPods and Apple Watches.

The new battery pack will not work with other iPhones due to its size, but 9to5Mac notes that the battery pack can also charge smaller accessories like wearables and earbuds via its USB-C port.

Devices that require 4.5W or less power will be supported, which means Apple’s smartwatch and wireless earbuds are good to go. You can also likely charge non-Apple earbuds using the same method, too.

This will, of course, require the battery pack to have power of its own, while a USB-C cable will be required — there is no suggestion that the MagSafe battery pack will be able to wirelessly charge anything other than the iPhone Air.

The new MagSafe battery pack is already on sale right now with a price of $99. The iPhone Air will go on sale alongside the other new iPhones on September 19.

The same date is also when Apple will make the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3 available to buy. All of new iPhones and Apple Watches are available to preorder right now.
