Apple’s macOS 26 Tahoe software update is closer than ever to being released to the public later this month. Now, developers can download the first Release Candidate update as Apple works out the final kinks ahead of that big release.
This new beta is likely to be the same as the final release, assuming that no big issues are discovered between now and the go-live date. Developers should download the new RC now and make sure that their apps work as expected ahead of the official macOS 26 Tahoe release.

That being said, this is still a beta, so we suggest that you only install it on devices that are dedicated to development and aren’t relied on for work, etc.
The developer beta requires that the correct developer Apple ID be signed in, and the new update is also compatible with a raft of Macs, too.
Registered developers can now download the macOS 26 Tahoe Release Candidate by heading to developer.apple.com and following the steps outlined there.
Any further betas will also be available for download via the System Settings app on your Mac, including any future macOS 26.x updates.
Apple will also make iOS 26, iPadOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 2, visionOS 26, and watchOS 26 available for download to the public soon, too.
