The Apple Vision Pro 2 Launch Probably Won’t Happen Before The End Of 2026

The Apple Vision Pro has been on sale since February of this year, albeit only in the United States with a global launch expected to happen within the next few months.

But those who had been holding off buying a new Apple Vision Pro in the hopes that a new, second-generation model would be worthwhile might want to have a rethink.

That’s following the news that Apple isn’t expected to launch the next Apple Vision Pro headset until at least the end of 2026, suggesting there is a long wait in store. That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in the weekly Power On newsletter this weekend.

Apple’s latest Vision Pro road map doesn’t currently call for a second-generation model until the end of 2026, though the company is trying to figure out a way to bring a cheaper version to market before then. Apple is still flummoxed by how exactly to bring down the cost, I’m told.

The report that Apple continues to work on a new, cheaper version of the Apple Vision Pro will be well received of course.

But there are concerns that the company is struggling to find a way to save money and has yet to figure out which components or features it can remove. Ultimately, Apple apparently wants to launch a cheaper headset before the second-generation model, and neither seems likely to arrive any time soon.
