Federal Lawsuit Filed Against Apple Over iPhone Location Tracking

In a move that surely shocks nobody, Apple is now being sued by two customers who claim their iPhones and iPads have been tracking their movements as reported recently. They claim an invasion of privacy has taken place and have sought legal action.

The two men, Vikram Ajjampur, a Florida-based iPhone user, and William Devito, a New York iPad owner are taking Apple to task over the way iOS keeps tabs on location data – presumably the pair don’t want Cupertino’s finest knowing just how many times they visit McDonalds/Chipotle/generic food establishment.

Unfortunately this is the kind of madness that lawyers like to get behind, and it’s only a matter of time before a jobs-worth politician joins in.

Steve Jobs has said the company’s software doesn’t keep track of your recent locations, however.
