Facebook has outgrown every other social network, it has outgrown Flickr and Picasa and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has made history by becoming the youngest self made billionaire. He also grabbed the Time’s Person of the Year Award, beating the much controversial Julian Assange. There is everything credible about the social network and it keeps adding more value. I recall Facebook launching its Face Detection feature last year, using which Facebook detected similar faces in numerous photos of an album and tagged each one of them in one go. Well that’s improving, starting from today!
Facebook has just sent out invites for a “Mobile Event” which they are hosting on November 3 at their Headquarters in Palo Alto, California.
Finally, the official Twitter client for iPad has been released. Feature wise, this is probably the most complete Twitter client for iPad to date. Some of the features, as listed by the official Twitter blog are as follows.
At the Facebook HQ in Palo Alto, CA, Facebook CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg, along with other developers, engineers and partners at Facebook announced a new location based product called Facebook Places. This is essentially a check-in service like Foursquare and Gowalla that allows you to check-in to places that you have been to share it with all your Facebook friends and family. You will be able to see which of your friends are currently at the same venue and which of them have been there. There is also going to be an option which will allow you to tag your friends into places you check-in. Of course you can change all that in your privacy settings and by default only those who are friends with you on Facebook will be able to see your check-ins. Facebook is also going to keep a complete history of check-ins that you have made at a dedicated page on web.
According to a new report released by Oxygen Media and Lightspeed Research, about one-third of women on Facebook between 18 to 34 in age check this social networking site in the morning as the first thing even before going to bathroom. It is Google’s take on “status updates”, like popular social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook which integrates right into Gmail. The key features of Buzz are as follows.
Microsoft today has announced the availability of Twitter app for the Zune HD portable media player. Zune HD 4.3 firmware was released last month which added support for running 3D games and apps on the Tegra-powered Zune HD. The first batch of these games and apps finally arrived last month as a free download via the Zune Marketplace.
