If you're an iPhone 4S owner then the chances are you're also a fan of Siri, Apple's latest big thing. The idea behind Siri is actually a simple one - to help make interacting with your iPhone as simple as asking it a question, or asking it to perform a task. Using real language, Siri should, at least in theory, be able to understand what you want and then act upon it.

Just yesterday, we published a post discussing not one, not two but four new plugins for Siri Proxy that allowed the texting of messages through Google Voice (instead of just the stock Messages.app), powering on a Wake On LAN computer, controlling iTunes and launching of any program through custom Siri commands. About one week ago, we published a post talking about how this one developer managed to open Siri up for other developers so they could come up with plugins that would extend its functionality beyond the usual wake-me-up, play-me-this-song, tell-me-the-weather type commands. We’ve talked about a couple of pieces of software that make use of this and, today in this post, we’ll be talking about four more plugins.

When Siri was introduced just last month, it didn’t take long for developers to tinker with the software and find innovating ways of using the feature.
Despite having only launched 5 or so weeks ago along with the iPhone 4S, hacking Siri has already become something of a spectator sport, with a seemingly endless range of possibilities.

I have an iPhone 4 and have been tempted to upgrade to the 4S since its debut. I don’t use my camera all that often and don’t care about getting more room for pictures, videos and apps. It’s Siri that has me considering the upgrade. And I would get it if it weren’t for the hefty price tag that comes with. That, and my contract won't be eligible for renewal for another year and a half.
Siri, whilst utilizing technology already available, has certainly caused a stir amongst the smartphone industry, with Google's Eric Schmidt reportedly a touch scared of the new entry to Android's main mobile OS rival.
