With its MacBook Pro lineup tightly tied to Intel's chip release schedule, Apple will be pleased to learn that the chip maker has launched an update to its Haswell line of CPUs.

Intel's astonishingly efficient Haswell processors have already worked wonders for the 2013 MacBook Air range, and KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo - one of the more reliable Apple analysts out there - seems to believe the iMac could be the recipient of the new chip in a refresh set to roll out as early as next month. Furthermore, Kuo also believes Apple plans to roll out new MacBook Pros in September, which are also expected to be powered by Haswell.
With the holiday season over, the Apple rumor mill is clearly back at work. According to a new report, Apple is getting ready to revamp its notebook line yet again, introducing more models with high-resolution Retina displays, or maybe even phase out the older displays completely.

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Apple media event set for October 23rd, invites for which were sent out four days ago.
