With all of the recent Apple related attention focused firmly on iOS 7 and the new iPhone hardware, it may come as a shock to a lot of people that the Cupertino based company took the liberty to announce a new range of Retina MacBook Pro notebooks at their iPad media event. We have all the details right here.
We are now just a couple of days away form Apple's media event - an event that we all expect the company to announce at least two new iPads at. With that in mind though, it's also an event that we suspect will see one or two other products shown off, even if they aren't all quite ready to ship.
Intel's latest Haswell processors may not have increased performance a grand jot over last year's Ivy Bridge, but in terms of efficiency, the improvements are clear for all to see. With Apple's MacBook Air 2013 range already reaping the benefits with vastly increased battery life, the MacBook Pro notebook would seem next in line, and according to a report, Haswell-powered MacBook Pros will begin shipping next month.
Intel's astonishingly efficient Haswell processors have already worked wonders for the 2013 MacBook Air range, and KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo - one of the more reliable Apple analysts out there - seems to believe the iMac could be the recipient of the new chip in a refresh set to roll out as early as next month. Furthermore, Kuo also believes Apple plans to roll out new MacBook Pros in September, which are also expected to be powered by Haswell.
With the holiday season over, the Apple rumor mill is clearly back at work. According to a new report, Apple is getting ready to revamp its notebook line yet again, introducing more models with high-resolution Retina displays, or maybe even phase out the older displays completely.
Apple announced multiple products at their event on Tuesday including the all-important iPad mini, an unexpected 9.7-inch iPad refresh, specs bump for the Mac mini, all new iMacs and, of course, the rather exciting 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. Apple today has released the first TV ad for the new MacBook Pro showcasing its amazing display. Check it out after the jump.
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Apple media event set for October 23rd, invites for which were sent out four days ago. Although there is nothing in the invite image that suggests this (like it did with new iPad and iPhone 5), it is widely expected to be the event where Apple announces their entry to the small and economical tablet market that is currently dominated by the likes of Amazon’s Kindle Fire (HD) and Google’s Nexus 7.
When Apple put a Retina display into the iPhone 4, the world was stunned by its crisp visuals, and equally so with the third-gen iPad when it dropped back in March. While the MacBook Pro's Retina display certainly doesn't fail to dazzle, consumers haven't leapt to adopt the very latest addition to the Cupertino's notebook family in such high numbers.
You can bet your bottom dollar that if it was purely up to Apple then deadlines wouldn't be missed and delivery targets wouldn't go unfulfilled. You can say what you want about the Cupertino technology giants, but they are as regular as clockwork and always on top of the things that matter most. It's somewhat unfortunate that reports are suggesting that the production, announcement and launch of the company's 13-inch variant of the Retina display MacBook Pro is being delayed due to issues beyond their control.
