Apple’s much anticipated event today came to a close a few hours back, but left the blogosphere abuzz in its wake with news and views on all the great tech that the Cupertino-based company showcased, including OS X Mavericks, the new iPads, a fresh MacBook Pro, the behemoth that they call Mac Pro, along with software improvements like iWork and iLife. There was so much more that the event had to offer, and here, we’re going to provide a quick run down in case you missed the action earlier. Today may have, in the eyes of many, been all about the new iPad, but in actual fact, a small faction of Apple fans have been waiting a great deal longer for the Mac Pro. The revamped version has been some years in the waiting, and after being partially unveiled at this year's WWDC, Apple has finally showcased the new machine. Inherently powerful, it packs in some of the most up-to-date hardware currently available, and you can catch all of the key details right after the break!
We are now just a couple of days away form Apple's media event - an event that we all expect the company to announce at least two new iPads at. With that in mind though, it's also an event that we suspect will see one or two other products shown off, even if they aren't all quite ready to ship.
The iPhone launch is, for the most part, now over, and attentions have naturally turned to Apple's secondary product releases of the calendar year. The Mac Pro, which has already been officially announced, could be just a month away from release according to a report over at French Apple blog MacGeneration, which also states that both the Intel Haswell-packing MacBook Pro and new iPads will make their way to the market by the end of October.
For many in the industry, the Mac Pro was on its way out, finished. Indeed, Apple’s desktop computer aimed at the company’s highest-end customers had not seen an upgrade for a number of years, until now. Apple has just unveiled a radically redesigned Mac Pro that does not only look completely different, it has greatly increased hardware specs too. A significant refresh of the Mac Pro was expected to arrive at WWDC '12, but the speculation never reached fruition, and the somewhat neglected device still pines for its first changes since 2009. Intel's long-awaited Ivy Bridge chip finally reached the Cupertino company's famed MacBook range at the annual developers conference, and both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro were grateful recipients. Meanwhile, Apple also introduced the first MacBook Pro to ditch the optical drive while also including a beautiful Retina display, and we took this as a sure sign of things to come.
