Ever since the iPhone 4 and the iPad 3, Apple fans far and wide have been crying out for Retina displays across the board. Apple's big event from last week may universally be known as 'the iPad event,' but it certainly wasn't the only new product to be announced by Tim Cook and his bevy of vice presidents. Proving that there is indeed no smoke without fire, Apple unveiled its first desktop with a Retina display, and it just so happens to be built into a new iMac that has people climbing over themselves to order.
Well, it's been quite the day of announcements in Cupertino. Still reeling from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus announcement and then subsequent pre-order fiasco followed by launch, we then had to put up with Bendgate fiasco. Now Apple has bestowed upon us a whole new collection of goodies for us to lust after and if we're really lucky, place orders for. The moment we all have been waiting for is finally here! Apple CEO Tim Cook has just taken the stage at Cupertino, which obviously means the iPad / Mac event has begun. Cook has kicked off things by announcing a number of stats and updates regarding Apple’s performance over the past year.
It's the period of time when educated speculation, wild conjecture and insane fantasy starts to get thrown around pertaining to what we could actually see being introduced during Apple’s event tomorrow. The invitation headline of "It's been way too long" doesn't really give much away, but needless to say that hasn't stopped even the deepest, darkest corners of the Internet from chipping in with its two cents worth. As we try to separate the "potentials" from the "no ways" we once again take guidance from KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a proven track record of predicting what lies ahead and believes that tomorrow's event could be heavily iMac centric.
As has long since been suspected, Apple will be holding a special event next week on October 16th, and likely topics of conversation will pertain to the iPad, OS X Yosemite, iOS 8.1 and possibly a couple of new Macs as well. Should all of these products roll out at the same time, it'll be a fairly busy affair, and for those wishing to tune in, Apple will be live streaming proceedings right from Town Hall.

With the event considered a certainty and the venue long since rumored, it was just a matter of when, and with the invitations having now been distributed, we know that 10/16 will be the date for Apple's second major keynote in as many months.
