New iPhone 16 Pro Leak Suggests A Redesigned Battery

Apple is still almost a year away from when we expect it to unveil the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, the latter continues to leak in various new and interesting ways.

The latest leak claims to have given us a new look at what will go inside the iPhone 16 Pro, with a refreshed battery design potentially on the way.

That’s according to a post from the leaker known as “Kosutami” to the X social network. This leaker has proven able to share correct information in the past, although that doesn’t mean that we can guarantee that this leak is genuine.

Taking it at face value for now, however, it appears that the new iPhone 16 Pro will have a slightly larger battery as well as what appears to be a redesigned connector when compared to the iPhone 15 Pro that is on sale today.

In terms of capacity, the iPhone 15 Pro has a battery with a 3,274 mAh capacity while the iPhone 16 Pro appears set for one with a 3,355 mAh capacity. That isn’t all that big of a difference and it’s unlikely that device owners will notice much of a change in battery life. In fact, it’s possible that Apple will use that extra battery capacity to power a slightly more power-hungry chip or more RAM.

The new iPhones are of course likely to be unveiled in September of 2024, so it’ll be a long wait before we get to learn whether this particular leak was on the money or wide of the mark.
