iOS 17 could be about to bring a big redesign to a part of the iPhone that many of us take for granted. According to a new report, Control Center is getting a “major” revamp for the first time in years.
A source speaking with MacRumors claims to know that Control Center is going to change with the release of iOS 17.
That iOS 17 update is expected to be shown during the WWDC23 opening keynote on June 5, with the release being offered to the public in or around September.
MacRumors says that while the source didn’t get into specifics, we could expect some changes to the way Control Center works.
The source did not provide any specific details about changes planned for Control Center, which has looked largely the same since iOS 11 was released in 2017. The menu provides iPhone users with convenient access to controls for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, display brightness, volume, and many other system functions. On the iPhone X and newer, Control Center can be opened by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen.
Control Center hasn’t really changed all that much since its debut with iOS 7 almost 10 years ago. But if this rumor is true then we can look forward to something new come June.
Apple’s iOS 17 will also be joined by iPadOS 17, so expect that to also get whatever Control Center changes come about.
