High-Quality HTC One 2 (M8) Press Images Leak Out, Here’s What It Looks Like

One of the big statements that HTC sought to make with the One was in dispelling the "megapixel myth" that had taken a stronghold on mobile market advertising. Indeed, consumers had been drawn to the idea that more megapixels equated to a greater shooting experience, so by going with a 4-megapixel camera it dubbed "UltraPixel," the company managed to deliver a very nice shooter without playing the numbers game.

This time around, the company appears to be up to its old tricks, with various leaks indicating that there'll be not one, but two rear-facing cameras, as well as the front snapper for video chat and those oh-so delightful selfies. Although this new render only shows the front of the device and thus, doesn't offer us another look at the two cameras baked onto the back, it will be interesting to see just how the dual-lens approach will enhance the overall performance, and with Evleaks also confirming that the device “really does have a second rear camera lens,” it's no longer a question of if, but rather, is it any good?

What the leaked image does show is that the buttons have been moved from the bottom of the device above speaker and onto the display, which will allow for the (presumably) larger new panel without increasing the size of the device.

Talking of speakers, the HTC One's are mightily impressive, and by the looks of things, that so-called 'BoomSound' feature will be pumping out high-quality audio once again.

Let's just hope that the parting of ways between HTC and Beats Audio isn't to the detriment of the sound output.

Coupled with the revelation earlier today that the next HTC flagship will be unveiled on March 25th, a new render of the device paints the clearest picture yet as to its probable form factor. Since this particular leak has been dug up by the ever-reliable Evleaks, we can say with relative authority that we now know what Taiwanese manufacturer will be showcasing in one month’s time, and although, on first glance, it does look rather similar to last year’s flagship HTC One, there are some notable differences.

From what we’ve been able to glean so far, the HTC M8, which some have unofficially dubbed the HTC One 2, will bear a striking resemblance to its would-be predecessor. Considering how much we’ve enjoyed the design of the current model, though, this is certainly good news, and as well retaining that slick unibody design, it looks as though we’ll be treated to a solid hardware upgrade in every area.
