We have just been tipped off about the possible name for the next jailbreak by Geohot, called Rubyra1n. The domain Rubyra1n.com was registered by the iPhone hacker named George Hotz (aka geohot) on 27th March 2010.
CNN has listed out their “The 10 biggest tech fails of 2010” in which they have picked Apple’s iPhone 4 “antennagate” as tech’s biggest fail of the year 2010.

The iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has just teased a screenshot of Sn0wbreeze 2.2 with a new “Baseband Preservation Mode”. One of the most annoying bug of initial release of Redsn0w 0.9.7 was the native app crashes which made using the Task Switcher, iPod and YouTube apps unusable after the untethered jailbreak. Well with the latest release of Redsn0w 0.9.7b2, all these problems have been fixes. Bluetooth functionality though is still disabled.
It looks like Skype is soon going to bring video calling to iPhone and iPod touch. In a help document (pulled now) published on the official Skype site, details were posted about making video calling from Skype for iPhone app to the Skype clients running on other platforms such as Windows and Mac.
Back in November, we reported about “Pull To Refresh for Mail” tweak in Cydia for jailbroken iPhones. And now, this nifty tweak is available for Mobile Safari browser on your iOS device. Once the tweak has been installed through Cydia, all you have to do is to start Safari and slide the page down until you see the refresh dialogue appear. Once you release your finger, the page will refresh just as if you tapped the usual refresh button.
It looks like everyone seems to have missed this! But if this statement from Comex is anything to go by, the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 might be as simple as installing a package from Cydia over your existing Redsn0w tethered jailbreak – Yes, you don’t need to restore or re-jailbreak your device.
We have already seen a tool named AirPlayer for Mac OS X which allows you to AirPlay videos from iOS devices to Macs. And now, a similar tool named AirMediaPlayer for Windows has been released which will allow you to stream videos wirelessly from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your Windows PCs.
