Bill Gates Finally Tells Us The Reason Why He Prefers Using Android Over iPhone

Microsoft co-founder and former CEO Bill Gates took part in his first Clubhouse meeting this week with a range of topics covered. But one of the comments is catching a ton of attention with Gates saying that he prefers Android over iPhones.

During the meeting journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin asked whether Gates uses an Android phone or iPhone, with MacRumors having the conversation available below.

“I actually use an Android phone,” Gates said. “Because I want to keep track of everything, I’ll often play around with iPhones, but the one I carry around happens to be Android.”

“So Android vs Apple – is this a religious thing?” asked Sorkin.

“Some of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me,” Gates replied. “They’re more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system. So that’s what I ended up getting used to. You know, a lot of my friends have ‌iPhone‌, so there’s no purity.”

Clubhouse co-founder Paul Davison has said that an Android version of the app is already in the works and that it is a “top feature” as far as he is concerned. However, Clubhouse launched on iPhone first as that is often the way these things go.

While Clubhouse calls aren’t normally recorded the full thing can be seen and heard on YouTube via the embedded video below. It’s well worth checking out with Gates also talking about his relationship with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and much more.
