If you have an iPhone 3G and you have this feeling that upgrading to iOS 4 has slowed down your device and that you want to go back to iPhone 3.1.3 / 3.1.2. I must have been asked this question a zillion times by now via email, twitter and on facebook on “how to check whether or not I have the new bootrom on my iPhone 3GS?”. Since it is very difficult, if not impossible for me to reply to each and everyone individually, I thought posting about it for everyone is the only option.
C.K. of SampletheWeb contacted Steve Jobs about the annoying iPhone 4 reception issue which has been plaguing most users who got the device at launch. The official response from Apple was - you are holding it the wrong way.
You must have heard about the buzz going on about the yellow tint / spot on the Retina display of iPhone 4 screen. This could be present anywhere from top left corner of the screen, middle, to lower corners of the screen. This of course is not good, specially because the new Retina display has been hyped like crazy, both by Apple and Press.

Some of you might have noticed the annoying 1604, 1600 error when restoring to iOS 4 custom firmware in iTunes which is built using PwnageTool 4.0 or 4.01. The error in question looks something on the lines of this.

Almost everything else remains the same except for this issue, and so it is recommended that you jailbreak your iPhone again if were having issues with the last release of PwnageTool.
iPhone 4 has arrived in iFixit lab and with no surprises, they have taken it down for a full dissection of Apple’s newly released device. The teardown has confirmed that iPhone 4 houses 512MB RAM instead of 256MB found in leaked prototypes, the front glass panel (Retina Display) of the iPhone 4 is constructed of Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from wear and tear, and there is also a second microphone for voice cancellation just like the one found in Google Nexus One.
