The iPhone Dev Team has finally released PwnageTool 4.1 which is based on recently released Geohot’s bootrom-based Limera1n exploit. This exploit enables this new version of PwnageTool to build custom firmware files for A4 devices like iPhone 4, iPad, Apple TV 2G and iPod touch 4G which was something, previously not possible.

Just like the last event, Apple is once again going to stream their “Back to the Mac” event live. You will have to have either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad to watch the streaming.
RichyRich has got hold of what they are claiming to be exclusive leaked photos of the upcoming iPhone from Verizon. The shape of this leaked prototype model looks almost exactly like the current iPhone 4.
iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has shared more screenshots from the upcoming version of Sn0wbreeze which is going to support almost all iOS based devices. For those of you who don’t know, Sn0wbreeze for Windows, like PwnageTool for Mac, can create custom firmware files without the upgraded baseband so that you can unlock your phone using the existing version of Ultrasn0w.
Incase you were wondering why Geohot used a userland exploit from Comex to make Limera1n untethered, it was because he did not wanted to waste his untethered version of bootrom exploit which seems to be more powerful than the exploit used in Limera1n. Both Comex and MuscleNerd has confirmed that Geohot has in his possession a new untethered bootrom level exploit which can be used to pwn future iOS devices like iPhone 5 and iPad 2G for life.
The highlight of Apple’s Q4 earnings call today was Steve Jobs surprise appearance where he went on-air to slam Google’s Android, RIM and other rival Tablet makers.
GreenPois0n has been updated to add support for jailbreaking iPod touch 2G (MC and Non-MC Model) running iOS 4.1. You can either use Windows, or the Mac version of GreenPois0n RC4 to jailbreak iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.1. Support for iPod touch 2G in Linux version of GreenPois0n will be added soon.
The following step by step instructions are going to help you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 4G / 3G using GreenPois0n on Mac OS X. Support for Apple TV and iPod touch 2G will be added soon.
MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has teased a little video which shows off the upcoming PwnageTool in action. This new version of PwnageTool is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit which will allow us to restore custom cooked firmwares (without the upgraded 05.14.04 / 2.10.4 basebands) on almost all the current iOS devices, including: iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), Apple TV, iPad and iPod touch 4G / 3G.
Mac version of Limera1n is now available for download. Even though the instructions for Mac are exactly the same as the one for Windows, I thought I would do the guide again for our Mac users who come here, searching for the Mac version of the instructions.
