Apple And HTC Come To Legal Settlement On All Current And Future Patents

Paul Morris·November 11, 2012
The patent wars that Apple have found themselves in over the last eighteen months are extremely well documented and have been covered all over the world as the Cupertino based company carries on the fight to protect what they believe is their registered property. The ongoing issues with Samsung and Motorola Mobility may not show any signs of coming to an immediate end but it looks like Apple may have one less thing to worry about after coming to a legal agreement with Taiwan based HTC regarding patents.

Hueless For iPhone Is The Perfect App For Black & White Photography

Paul Morris·November 11, 2012
Those who are fans of photography and regularly use their iPhone and iPod touch to capture images will understand that great photographs come in all shapes and forms and can be captured at any location. A lot of apps on the iOS App Store concentrate on allowing users to touch-up images with effects and splashes of color, but what about those photography fans who love nothing more than the simplistic beauty and innocence of a black and white photograph? Thankfully, the App Store has a number of apps dedicated to this art, with one of the best around being the Hueless app from Curious Satellite.

GTA V Will Feature Three Main Leading Characters In An Epically Vast Los Santos Environment

Paul Morris·November 10, 2012
Officially set to be released next year, we can't help but get excited every time we hear little snippets of information regarding Grand Theft Auto V. The highly anticipated release in the GTA franchise has been under development for quite some time, but apart from the few teasing screenshots, promotional images released by Rockstar Games, we haven't really had a great deal to get our teeth into. GTA IV left a few hardcore fans feeling a little let down with the experience, but it certainly looks like Rockstar are back on top of their game with the latest offering.

You Will Soon Be Able To Comment On A Comment On Facebook Using The ‘Reply’ Button [IMAGE]

With over one billion active users, there is no denying that Facebook is the largest social network on the planet, but if you compared the web based experience today with the experience that actually first launched with Facebook back in 2004 then it would be barely recognizable. Like any popular site or service, Facebook has evolved over time to meet increasing demand and has added - and sometimes removed - features that they believe will be beneficial to users. It seems that the latest addition to the social network could come in the form of a threaded comments system that stands a good chance of causing chaos on profiles if it gets through the user testing stage.

Apple Makes $2.5 Million Donation To American Red Cross To Assist With Hurricane Sandy Support Efforts

Paul Morris·November 9, 2012
It wasn't that long ago when we brought you the news that Apple had set up a dedicated charitable giving page using their iTunes payment infrastructure to collect donations from the public on behalf of the American Red Cross. The system was put in place to allow Apple account holders to make a financial donation to the charity to help with the ongoing relief efforts as an aftermath of Hurricane Sandy without the need to create any additional login or provide payment data to external parties. In an internal email sent to Apple employees, Tim Cook has outlined his company's commitment to the cause with a $2.5 million donation of their own.

Apple’s New Fusion Drive For Mac Gets Benchmarked Against A Standard HDD, And It’s Fast! [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·November 9, 2012
When Tim Cook and his executive team introduced the new iMac as part of their most recent media event, it was the redesigned form factor and the extremely thin profile that grabbed most of the attention. Granted, the new aesthetics of the soon-to-be released iMac is quite a staggering aesthetic transformation from the currently available model, but the more technical minded consumer chose to focus on the under-the-hood announcements that came out of the event, one of which was the new Fusion Drive.

Microsoft’s New Voice Recognition Technology Can Translate Your Natural Voice Into Another Language [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·November 9, 2012
There is a little bit of a voice command battle going on at the moment in the mobile space, with Apple's digital Siri assistant and Google's Voice Search offering duking it out against one another for the affections of users. Both come with their own set of pros and cons and will only get better as we move forward into the future, but it seems that Microsoft's Research and Development teams have been working on something voice based of their own behind the scenes that could change the way humans interact with one another.

Paul Morris·November 9, 2012
With the holiday shopping season fast approaching, it's inevitable that retailers and service providers will be falling over themselves to conjure up some seasonal deals that will entice the customers in. Yesterday, we brought information regarding Walmart's proposed Black Friday deals that will begin on Thanksgiving, and today is the turn of AT&T to get into the spirit with their tablet deals that will see the company offering a $100 discount on any purchased tablet as long as a specific criteria is met.

Apple Working On Headphones Which Double Up As Loudspeakers, According To New Patent Filing [IMAGE]

Paul Morris·November 9, 2012
It's understandable that consumers will always have mixed emotions about any company from which they’re buying products, and for the large part, big companies like Apple, Google and Samsung are always going to do something that draws a negative reaction from some. With that said, one thing that Apple in particular can't be accused of is resting on their laurels and remaining stagnant in the marketplace. Although the Cupertino company has recently announced and launched their revamped EarPods headphones alongside the iPhone 5, a new patent suggests that they are still working on further advances in that area.

Sayonara For iPhone Sends You A Push Notification Every Time Your Twitter Follower Jumps Ship

Paul Morris·November 8, 2012
We are always interested in new apps that are released onto different mobile platforms, specifically those that aren't just carbon copies of other creations and actually offer something a little different. The Sayonara app - released only yesterday - may not be the most feature packed app on the iOS App Store but it does offer a rather handy little notification system that alerts users when a Twitter follower has the audacity to hit that Unfollow button.
