Your iPhone Case Says A Lot About Your Personality [Infographic]

Ben Reid·June 7, 2013
What does your iPhone case say about you? Perhaps you've never thought about it. But in actual fact, if you look between the lines, patterns and vibrant colors which envelop our treasured Apple smartphones, you may notice that actually, the specifics of a device's cover/case/shell is something people take more seriously than they'd perhaps like to admit. Mashable has put together a rather interesting, slightly humorous infographic looking into the numerous different types of cases, and what they tell people about the individual in ownership of the device. Does your iPhone case offer a fair reflection of your personality? Check the infographic after the jump for more info!

Facebook Update Brings New Favorites Tray For Home, Post Sharing Settings And More On Android

Ben Reid·June 7, 2013
Facebook has long since been the world's most visited social network, and rather than just offering the official app alongside a separate Messenger service, the social network has sought to go to town with its deep integration with the introduction of the Facebook Home APK for Android, which arrived two months back along with some other interesting features. Opinion has been mixed hitherto, with the new implementations having experienced quite a few teething issues on Google's fragmented platform, but today, Zuck's team has released a significant update to both Facebook and Facebook Home for Android. Details after the break.

Apple To Start iPhone Trade-In Program To Push Sales Of iPhone 5 [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·June 7, 2013
According to a report over at Bloomberg, Apple is to begin an iPhone trade-in program with a little help from wireless distribution specialist Brightstar. The report cites the all-too familiar sources "with knowledge of the plans" in suggesting Apple is planning such a move, but if true, would certainly help to drive up adoption rates of the iPhone 5 as it continues to edge towards the end of its tenure as the Cupertino company's flagship device.

Modern Combat 5 For iOS And Android Trailer Released Ahead Of E3 [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·June 7, 2013
The first-person shooter genre has really flourished on modern mobile devices, and up there mixing it with the best of them is Gameloft's modern combat series. The publisher has quite a few similar titles available for both Android and iOS, but the Modern Combat franchise has easily been its strongest hitherto. Having already developed a strong legion of fans, Gameloft has just gone ahead and teased a trailer for Modern Combat 5, and even though the previous releases have enjoyed high-end, console-esque visuals and gameplay, this latest version appears to have stepped things up once more. Details, as well as that trailer, can be found after the jump!

Galaxy S4 Firmware Update Released: Frees Storage Space, HDR Video Recording And More

Ben Reid·June 6, 2013
In the light of the announcements of the Google versions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, the talk about Sense and TouchWiz and their associated bloat seems to have petered out. But while an AOSP update is still on the cards for current owners of these two industry darlings, consumers still have to content with this annoying added baggage. The Galaxy S4 16GB only actually offers 9.15GB of storage once you factor in the extra apps, but a new update for German users of the Korean company's flagship smartphone brings a little, and I mean very little bit of respite.

BBM For iPhone And Android Release Date Accidentally Leaked By T-Mobile UK?

Ben Reid·June 6, 2013
BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) has hitherto been an exclusive flagship feature of the BlackBerry platform, but with the company having recently announced its decision to allow the instant messaging service to fly the nest as it were by crossing platforms to both iOS and Android, it now looks as though BBM for iOS and Android may just be a few weeks away now. According to a tweet sent out by T-Mobile UK, which was later pulled, it's going to be hitting the App Store and Google Play Store on June 27th, and with the once-dominant BlackBerry brand struggling even after its big overhaul, this move will certainly help get the name back into circulation.

Ben Reid·June 6, 2013
When it comes to Football, or, for the sake of those in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and others, Soccer, Electronic Arts' FIFA series has long since been seen as the authority. Pro Evolution continues to battle away, but when it comes to September-October time of the year, most true footy fans yearn for the latest FIFA. Although we're just approaching Summer at this point, now's the time of year when EA usually begins to whet the appetites of soccer fans worldwide, and right on cue, a gameplay trailer has been released of FIFA 14.

See A Nexus 7 Being Shot Using A Powerful .50 Caliber Rifle [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·June 5, 2013
Although we spend billions of dollars protecting our beloved gadgets with cases, wallets and covers, there's certainly something of a perverse pleasure in watching them get completely annihilated by fire, lava, or simply cracked beyond recognition in a drop test. The Nexus 7 is revered as one of the best value tablets on the market right now, and one YouTuber decided to see what the ASUS-made slab would look like after interaction with a .50 Cal round. The result, as you will see below, was not particularly surprising.

Intel Announces Thunderbolt 2, Bringing Mind Blistering Speeds Up To 20 Gbps

Ben Reid·June 5, 2013
Thunderbolt 2, which has hitherto been recognized only under its code name "Falcon Ridge," is real, and Intel is planning on launching it later on in 2013. Most notably, Thunderbolt 2 offer bandwidth of up to 20 Gbps, which would not only facilitate simultaneous high-speed transfers, but also be capable of transferring and displaying 4K video.
